Yesterday is history
Tomorrow a mystery
Today is a Gift
You’ve probably heard of the above saying. We all like to receive gifts, right? So, if today is a gift, are you ready to receive it with gratification. Let’s live in today, because yesterday has already gone and tomorrow is yet to come. That being said, beware of the following diseases that might prevent you from living in today.
1. Destination Disease
I was not aware of this disease until I read about it from one of my mentors. His name is not important, let’s call him Rich Schefren J. I treated it myself with the help of one solutions (which I’m going to reveal below) and recently when I shared this thought with my friends during out last Easter party, shockingly 70% of them admitted they’ve also having the same probelm and that’s why I’ve decided to write about it in this blog post. Certainly it will help at least one person, may be that person is you.
What the heck is destination disease?
Destination Disease says, I will only be happy when…
I earn at least $5000/month
I buy my dream house
I buy my new car
I get rid of my debts
I finished repayment of my loans
I get a new husband
I get rid of my old husband
I make 10k more per year
I move out on my own
I get married
I get divorced
I move to a different city
My dad quits yelling
Destination Disease is a brutal disease that always says, “I can’t be happy right now, my current situation doesn’t allow me to be happy”. This type of people always looking towards the future because they believe that tomorrow something, somebody, somehow is going to change their current life and they will get a huge break through and can live their dream life.
I’m really sorry and If I’m little harsh with you with the following statement.
Folks, that day is not going to happen as long as you’re only dreaming for it. People who have affected destination disease often fail to accept the reality and blame others or situations for their dreams not coming into reality. Because of this they often fail to address today’s problem. It could be a health issue, issue with wife, financial problem.
Kindly understand this, ignoring current problems in your life or lack of confidence to face it, will not lead you anywhere.
Another fact we should remember is, we quiet often overestimate the good things that are going to happen in our life in the future. For e.g. when my salary was $1000/month I wished that if I could have earned $2000/month, it would have been changed my life drastically. But when it comes to reality I was in even worse situation than before.
We think that “more” is the only solution to anything.- More money, more freedom, more time, more fame. But if you don’t know how to live today and head on to face all the problems, you can’t enjoy tomorrow.
Solution to Destination Disease
Ask this question to yourself.
“If you do not love your present that you can experience at present how do you expect to love tomorrow, that you cannot.”
After all, no matter where you are, the present moment “IS” the only one that you have. Make sure you don’t miss it. Please!
2.Don’t live in the past (Living in the past disease)
All unresolved problems or events will continue to haunt you, if you don’t address the underlying pain, anger, frustration. It takes strong will power and courage to withstand from haunting memories, but you have to. Otherwise it will lie as brick wall to your present and future success. Take a deep breath and think this
You know that you can’t rewrite your past
You can’t even predict the future
But the person who you are now is enough strong to move ahead to your goals.
That being said, no overnight transformation is not going to happen. But think this for a moment
All success people in this world had horrible things in their life span. If they simply bury their head in the sand with the above diseases they could not have been achieved the success that they enjoy now.
So raise your head now with confidence and say
Hey obstacles, I know you are there to prevent me from achieving my goals, but at any cost I’ve to break you and continue my journey because I’m bigger than you and I’m born to win.
“One day at a time–this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.”
